Notes on the Internship: Students will begin their field work in Spring 2026 with Coun 659 – Practicum in Mental Health Counseling which requires 100 hours of field works. Once you reach 100 hours, you will move on to Coun 663 – Mental Health Counseling 1 which requires 300 hours of field work. Once a student has finished the 300 hours of Coun 663, they will continue with Coun 664 – Mental Health Internship 2. Members of SEIU 1199 may be eligible for 1-2 days of paid leave a week to complete course requirements. All 700 internship hours must be completed by Friday, May 14th 2027.
Students are required to complete 700 hours of field work. Practicum = 100 hours (no client contact required, observation only, client contact at supervisor’s discretion); Internship I = 300 hours (140 direct client contact); Internship II = 300 hours (140 direct client contact)
